I just completed the Foot Foundations program with great results. I can see improvements in almost all of the assessments, and now know where to concentrate my time with my physio at home (I do not live in Calgary). This was a great way to approach rehab, without just having the same 5 exercises to do everyday. I encourage anyone who is a runner, hiker or puts a lot of strain on their feet to do this program to prevent injuries down the road. Our feet are our foundations and shouldn't be left out of the strength training plan!

I can’t recommend Carla, Charlie, Mac, and the entire team highly enough. When I first came to the clinic, I was dealing with severe Achilles tendinopathy in my left Achilles. It had become so painful that I couldn’t even wear shoes that touched the back of my heel. I sought out Carla specifically because of her expertise in Achilles injuries, and I’m so glad I did. From day one, I was put on a comprehensive tendon-loading program and supported by an incredible team of physiotherapists and chiropractors. What really set this clinic apart for me was their use of force plate testing and objective data to track progress. As someone who values data, being able to see measurable improvements helped keep me motivated during the inevitable ups and downs of recovery. After four months, my left ankle dorsiflexion had increased by 55.6%, enough that I felt confident hiking in Patagonia. After another month of treatment and training, I improved by an additional 5%, reached the 99th percentile for strength, and significantly reduced the asymmetry between my legs. Now, eight months later, I’m back to my regular running program and feeling stronger than ever! If you’re dealing with Achilles tendinopathy or any stubborn injury, this is the team you want in your corner.

I had my lower back fuse approximately 5 months ago and have been doing physical therapy with Rachel Solecki with Vital Performance Care. Rachel has done a very professional job and I feel very satisfied with the assistance she has provided. I would highly recommend Rachel for her knowledge on rehabbing my spine. Thank you Rachel. I'm also very impressed with all of the services that Vital Performance Care offers . It's a very professional business that I highly recommend.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Ainsley Vettese for almost a year now, and I can’t recommend her enough. As a professional dancer, finding someone who truly understands the demands of an active body is invaluable, and she has been incredible every step of the way. What stands out most is her genuine care and attention to detail. She always follows up, checks in on my progress, and gives me practical exercises to work on between appointments that have made a huge difference in my mobility and overall movement. Every time I come in with an issue, she takes the time to assess the bigger picture and consistently pinpoints exactly what’s going on. Her knowledge is extensive and goes far beyond just treating symptoms. I always leave feeling supported, educated, and confident in my recovery plan. I’ve recommended her to countless dancers and athletes, and I will continue to do so. She’s absolutely brilliant and a 10/10 practitioner.

Update: Still loving Vital. Rebecca M is also my trainer and can't recommend her enough. So knowledgable, kind, and motivational! :D If I could give them 10 stars, I would! Michael D does the BEST massage. Dr. Ford is very knowledgable. Victoria is a great training, and does the coolest comprehensive assessments and prgram design- well worth the investment. Highly recommend.

I have been working with Vital Performance Care (Endurance Coaching) for several years now, and I plan to keep working with them going forward as I crush new goals. Here is why they're the best: 1. They're qualified. They're not influencers looking for followers or promoting a download of a one- size-fits-all plan. Casual athlete looking to receive the best advice and elevate your performance while offloading the work of building training plans? They've got you. Injured and need the right care to get you back on track and competing again? They've got you. Elite or Olympic level athlete? They've got you. 2. The coaches & people are amazing My plug here for Rick Canning. He has been my coach for the past year or so and has really helped me elevate my performance & achieve my goals. His advice on nutrition (pre, during and post race) and mindset while racing has been invaluable. He pushes me to do more- think to the ledge and not off of it :). I struggled with hamstring issues for a bit and they collaborated across my coach, chiropractor and personal trainer to get me back on track. I was blown away by this and now have my injury in check. 3. They make it easy My coach uploads my plan into the training peaks app and it syncs with my garmin. They have all my running data, and make a plan specific to me, my goals, and even the race I'm doing. All I have to do is hit start. No thinking about how many KM's, meters, or timing to start or stop intervals, how long a long run should be, when to deload or taper... the list goes on and on. They do this weekly so that adjustments can be made for illness or just life being busy. They also build out a customized strength program for me to follow to keep me running injury free. I went from wanting to complete a marathon in 2024 to celebrate my health and a majour birthday milestone, to qualufying and finiahing the Boston Marathon in 2026. I can't say enough great things about them.

I cannot recommend Vital Performance highly enough — they are, without question, the premier clinic in Calgary. Dr. Amy McKinnon has been exceptional throughout my care. Her thorough diagnostic approach, clear communication, and ability to resolve complex issues are truly next level. She takes the time to understand the root cause of any problem rather than simply treating symptoms, and her expertise is matched by a genuine commitment to patient outcomes. The entire team shares this same standard of professionalism and care, creating an environment where you feel both heard and supported. Their new location is beautifully designed, welcoming, and conveniently situated — a perfect reflection of the quality of service they provide. Whether you’re dealing with a specific injury, chronic discomfort, or looking to optimize your overall performance, Vital Performance delivers results. I highly recommend Dr. McKinnon and the entire clinic to anyone seeking top-tier care in Calgary.

Vital Performance Care has been outstanding in helping me recover from a damaged shoulder. Their multidisciplinary team—chiropractors, physiotherapists, massage therapists, and trainers—worked together to resolve the injury, and my shoulder now feels stronger and more stable than it has in years. Alongside regular treatments, I’ve been using their Shoulder Foundations self-guided program, which builds strength and improves dynamic movement and control. I’ve liked it so much that I’ve also started their Hip Foundations program. What really stands out is that the team at Vital is genuinely focused on healing properly and preventing recurring injuries. Highly recommend.

Rachel Solecki at Vital has been an absolute saviour for me with physio! When I feel a niggle while training for races or something bigger that keeps me out of the action, Rachel works to understand the root cause of the issue and develop a plan to get me back on track with my goals. She introduced me to needling, which I’ve since become a big fan of for more immediate effects, and she always welcomes you with a smile on her face. Couldn’t recommend her enough! The Vital space at ECAC is gorgeous and the large windows and natural light amplify the positive atmosphere!

Went to Tara and Carla seeking help for hip pain that I had been experiencing for months with no progress; hip pain that I thought was going to end my hockey career. They offered testing, recommendations, and enrollment into the Hip Foundations program. After completing the program, I have significantly less pain, and more strength and stability than ever before. Being a goalie this is exactly what I needed to survive the competition and training leading up to the Olympics. Highly recommend checking out their specific strength training programs!
