Half of the listed prices sit between $160 and $247.50, though the lengths behind them are not all the same treatment. 7 clinics here cannot currently be checked for availability, so anything this page says about openings is about the rest.
The fifty-minute hour is close to universal in counselling, which makes this the one discipline on Ailio where two prices are usually for the same appointment. What the difference between them reflects is the practitioner rather than the session — most often their designation, which is on each of their own pages here where a clinic or a register has told us what it is.
The median listed price is $190, taken from 4,098 priced services at 237 clinics in Vancouver. Counselling with a registered clinical counsellor is not covered by MSP. Sessions with a family doctor or psychiatrist are, and some publicly funded and non-profit services are free at the point of use — those are separate from the private clinics indexed here. Private sessions are paid by the patient and claimed on an extended-health plan if it includes counselling, which many do only up to a low annual maximum.
No referral is needed to see a registered clinical counsellor in British Columbia. Some extended-health plans reimburse only for specific designations — RCC, CCC or a registered psychologist — so check which your plan names before you book.
