I am writing this review to hold Sano State Psychology publicly accountable for what I believe was a predatory, misleading, and ultimately harmful experience that cost me over $5,000 and two years of my life. They knew my condition. And they took my money anyway. What I Was Promised I was explained and actively convinced that their combination of treatments — Neurofeedback, Counselling, and TMS — would help me recover my mental health. I was told that approximately 20 hours of treatment would be sufficient to see meaningful healing. This was presented to me not as a possibility, but as a credible, expected outcome. This promise was the reason I committed financially and emotionally to this program. I was not in a position to make decisions from a place of strength — I was desperate, in pain, and looking for help. They presented themselves as that help. What Actually Happened I completed the program in 2022 for over 6 months, doing far more than the 20 hours they sold me as sufficient I returned in 2023 and did it again for another 6+ months, still chasing the recovery they promised I spent over $2,500 each year — more than $5,000 total — out of pocket, during a period when I had already lost my job due to complex PTSD At no point did I experience the promised improvement It is now 2026 — three to four years later — and my mental health has not improved. It has spiraled downward My symptoms of complex PTSD, anxiety, panic, and suicidal ideation have worsened, not improved I went without other potentially effective treatments during those years because I was investing my time, money, and hope into this program Why This Is a Problem The scientific evidence behind Neurofeedback for complex PTSD is limited and contested — it is not considered a first-line evidence-based treatment. Yet it was sold to me as a solution. TMS has some recognized applications, but its effectiveness varies significantly and requires careful, honest patient counselling about realistic expectations — counselling I did not receive. Instead of honest, balanced information, I was given false confidence and misleading assurances designed to keep me coming back and spending more money. Selling unproven or marginally effective treatments to mentally ill, financially vulnerable, and desperate patients — with promises of recovery — is not ethical care. It is exploitation. The Real Cost The damage here goes far beyond $5,000. During those two years: I was not receiving treatments that might have actually helped me My condition continued to deteriorate while I believed I was getting better I depleted financial resources I could not afford to lose as someone without employment My hope was used against me — I kept returning because I believed in what they told me, not because the evidence supported it Now in 2026, I am worse off mentally, financially, and emotionally than when I first walked through their doors My Warning to Anyone Considering This Clinic If you are struggling with PTSD, panic disorder, depression, or any serious mental health condition — please do your research before spending thousands of dollars on Neurofeedback or similar programs at this clinic. Ask for peer-reviewed evidence. Ask about realistic success rates for your specific diagnosis. Ask what happens if it doesn't work. Ask why they need more than the hours they originally promised you. I did not ask those questions because I was in crisis and I trusted them. That trust was not honored. I am sharing this so that no other vulnerable person has to lose years of their life and thousands of dollars chasing a promise that was never fulfilled. It is really difficult to put into words just how much I've gained from Dr. Ausmus and the counselling and neurofeedback treatment I've received through Sano State. This clinic has become an honestly safe space and a true resource for healing.

Dr. Blake Ausmus is very knowledgeable and has been a huge help with myself and my kids! I have been dealing with kids who can't sleep at night, and have separation anxiety. Not long after our sessions did I notice I huge difference. Now I can send my kids off to school without any worries, and they are sleeping way better. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Ausmus
