This is an email I sent to the organization. I picked your organization, and You chose Aaisha Ahmed as my therapist. Your organization says it deals with trauma, which is why I picked you. Aaisha is a nice person, but after I told my full story of my trauma. All I got was some coping skills for things i was currently struggling with. There was no talk about how to heal, how to forgive, and how to move forward. There was no real dealing with my past trauma and PTSD. I recently went to Ottawa for Canada Day. My brother loved Canada Day, and he loved Ottawa. I went to throw my brother's ashes in the water. He passed from cancer. Aaisha knew how close we were. She also knew how extremely difficult this trip would be for me. Although we spoke on Monday the day before I left for Ottawa. I have been back for a few weeks, and I have heard nothing from her, not even a brief check-in. A client and therapist is supposed to develop a repoor with each other. A trust between the 2 people. Just because I was on a sliding scale does not mean that I am less important or my problems, Somehow, take a back seat. I feel very disappointed in how my situation was handled or not handled at all. What I got out of the sessions with Aaisha is nothing, really. Your organization is supposed to have therapists or therapists in training, which is supervised by a senior therapist. It's difficult to trust a therapist that you just started seeing, and although I was just in the beginning of trusting her, especially because we had a session the day before I left for Ottawa. She made me feel like she really cared. I came back, and there has been no contact. Not even a check-in, nothing. Given my past trauma and PTSD, it matters to have someone like your therapist to show up for you when you are not able to be strong. I am back to square one. What this shows me is that it really was only about the money. This will just be another agency and therapist who really did not care about me the person and truly only cared about one thing. I feel very let down. I spent money that was difficult for me to come up with. I will no longer need your services.
