About Petra

Petra is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Petra completed her Master in Developmental Psychology at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, in 2003. She graduated with a Master in Christian Counselling (specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy) at Canada Christian College in 2022. She is a member with the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT). Petra has a passion to support individuals, families, and couples in their journey towards healing and restoration. She creates a compassionate, non-judgemental, and safe environment for her clients to explore their struggles. She works with a client-centred approach using diverse counselling intervention strategies. She is experienced in supporting individuals struggling with spiritual abuse in the church context. Petra is happily married to Leon and together they have four beautiful children. She speaks fluent Dutch, enjoys reading, loves to go on dates with her husband, and gets inspired by everything interior design. She is a keynote speaker on the topic of faith and mental health.
