About Nike

I am a Registered Psychologist in Alberta and understand the great privilege and honour it is to be able to walk alongside someone amid some of their deepest pains, vulnerabilities, and feelings of insecurity. I am humbled by this role and yet am also continuously inspired by the humility it takes for clients to seek out support on their journey toward personal growth, healing, and wellness. This life is not meant to be walked alone; Jesus had His 12 apostles, the Holy Trinity continues to work as three persons united as one, and the body of Christ is stronger when the different parts function together. The Word of God states that “in the multitude of counsellors there is safety” (Proverbs 24:6). Whether you are seeking help to deal with past trauma, current relationship struggles, or inner turmoil or despondency, I am here to tell you that there is hope. I have experience working with a myriad of mental health challenges, including, but not limited to anxiety, depression, grief, behavioural issues, and marital and family conflicts. In addition to working with adults, families, and couples, I also work with children and adolescents. As a follower of Jesus Christ, I lean on the Bible as my guiding light and foundation. I also incorporate evidence-based therapeutic techniques in my clinical practice for an integrated treatment approach. I commonly use Emotionally Focused Therapy which can help to heal and strengthen our relational and emotional bonds with self and others. In addition to having a master’s degree in counselling psychology, I also possess a master’s and doctorate degree in the field of health promotion whereby my academic research examined the role and implications of Christian spirituality among women from the African Diaspora and their sense of wellness. While incorporating one’s faith into therapeutic treatment can be highly beneficial, the degree to which you as a client would like a spiritually integrated approach is completely up to you. If you would prefer not to have spirituality as part of your treatment plan at all, this would be honoured and respected. I look forward to seeing you soar!
