About Michelle

Teaching since 2004, Michelle continues to share her knowledge and expertise throughout the GTA and Downtown Toronto. Establishing Liberty Dance in 2015 was a pivotal moment in Michelle’s career which allowed her the opportunity to introduce the holistic approach to dance education to those under her instruction recreationally, pre-professionally and professionally. Having trained and received Honours and Distinctions under the Cecchetti and RAD methods of ballet, CDTA jazz, and studying various methods of modern, including Graham and Limon techniques, Michelle has also graduated with Honours from the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom. Here, she achieved her Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education with a focus on health and rehabilitation. Michelle completed a Dissertation on Dancer Screening Processes to learn more about training dancers while promoting self-awareness and addressing their body’s requirements regarding the mind, body and soul. Michelle has developed a holistic program with aims to help dancers learn how to maintain the longevity of a career in dance. Michelle has also trained with Centennial College, studying Massage Therapy in 2007, where she gained extensive knowledge in Sports and Rehabilitation Assessments, Swedish, Sports, and Hot Stone Massage Techniques, and Remedial Exercise Programs. She has been practicing at 361° since 2012 and currently practices throughout the GTA, helping dancers and a variety of athletes overcome injuries and maintain good health throughout their training. As a current instructor in health sciences at Oxford College, Michelle is able to share and expand her knowledge and expertise to those with goals in pursuing a career in Massage Therapy and other health science programs. With such passion for holistic training, Michelle utilizes her therapeutic and rehabilitative knowledge and experiences within her teaching practice with hopes to provide a positive and healthy atmosphere for learning in all her classes.

It always amazes me Melanie’s outgoing personality and the way she makes you feel welcome in the clinic. She is an excellent chiropractor and acupuncturist. Michelle is by far one of the best therapeutic massage therapists I’ve ever met. Very professional, friendly and I really appreciate when she looks in detail where there is any tension. 200% recommended!
