Ms. Baird is a warm, compassionate, and experienced Clinical Social Worker who brings over two decades of dedication to helping adults navigate life’s challenges. Ms. Baird works with individuals 18 and older, offering support through life transitions, emotional difficulties, and personal struggles. Whether someone is feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain, Ms. Baird provides a safe and supportive space to explore what’s going on and move toward personal growth and meaningful positive change. With a down-to-earth style and a deep commitment to helping others, Ms. Baird walks alongside her clients as they move toward healing, resilience, and greater self-understanding. At the heart of Ms. Baird’s practice are the core values of Social Work—she is a thoughtful and attentive listener, non-judgmental, and deeply respectful of each person’s unique story. She believes in the inherent dignity and worth of all individuals and is committed to maintaining privacy and confidentiality throughout the therapeutic relationship. Clients often share that they feel truly seen and heard when working with Ms. Baird, which reflects her genuine presence and ability to connect in a caring and grounded way. Ms. Baird offers evidence-based approaches tailored to individual needs and goals. Her areas of focus include supporting people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use concerns, and disordered eating. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), CBT for non-underweight individuals (CBT-T), and CBT for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (CBT-AR). She also incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based practices such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Depression (MBCT) and Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP). She holds a Master’s of Social Work from Dalhousie University and has spent the past 20+ years working in community mental health and addictions with Nova Scotia Health.
