Lauren Harding is a registered Physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and a graduate of McMaster University's Master of Science in Physiotherapy program, where she was awarded the 'Physiotherapy Expert' and 'Leadership Scholarship' Awards. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph.
Lauren is passionate about helping clients of all ages and presentations achieve their rehabilitation goals so they can live their lives in a way that's most fulfilling to them. She uses a holistic, patient-centred approach, encouraging clients to play an active role in their own recovery. Her treatment plans are individualized, and often include education, hands-on facilitation, and targeted exercise prescription.
Lauren has a particular interest in neurological rehabilitation, including stroke and complex movement analysis, and often incorporates a Bobath approach to help improve movement quality and support functional independence. Her previous volunteer work as a Parkinson's Canada Support Group Leader has given her a unique lens into treating those living with the disease.
She has also developed expertise in treating professional and recreational dancers, drawing on her years of training and experience as a professional ballet dancer to inform how she supports clients recovering from injury or looking to move with ease. Alongside her clinical work, she teaches anatomy to ballet teachers-in-training at Canada's National Ballet School.
Before becoming a physiotherapist, Lauren worked as a Registered Kinesiologist, where she developed a strong foundation in exercise prescription for a wide range of conditions that continues to shape her practice today.
Lauren is a Certified GLA:D Canada Instructor, BoneFit trained through Osteoporosis Canada, and holds Progressing Ballet Technique and Functional Capacity Evaluation certifications.
Outside of the clinic, you'll likely find Lauren at a Pilates class, on the pickleball court, bouldering, exploring a new trail or coffee shop, or planning her next trip, Italy is next on the list. Whether you're recovering from an injury or simply looking to move and feel better, Lauren would love to support you along the way!
