Kelsey obtained a Masters of Physiotherapy (MScPT) at the University of Alberta after completing a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Eastern Washington University. During this time she also held certifications in Sports and Conditioning (CSCS) and personal trainer (NSCA-CPT) through the NSCA and interned as an Athletic Trainer at U-District, Gonzga University’s Official Sports and Conditioning Providers. Kelsey strongly believes in continuing education and has complemented her schooling with courses in Functional Dry Needling (FDN/IMS), Graston and Mulligan techniques as well as Orthopaedic Levels 1-3. Additionally, her experience in private as well as hospital clinics has trained her to treat a wide variety of acute and chronic disorders.
Local to the Comox Valley, Kelsey (ne: Tufnail) grew up in an environment of outdoor sports and activities. She would follow a soccer scholarship to Eastern Washington University, eventually becoming captain of their Division 1 women’s team. Since then Kelsey has become an avid mtn biker, surfer, skier and off-road triathlete. She has qualified for the ITU World Championships as well as qualifying and competing in the Xterra World Championships. She spends her free time with friends and family doing any activity that the great outdoors can offer, often with her husband and two boys.
Kelsey is no stranger to high level sport and understands the importance of rehabilitation and sustained injury prevention. She has a keen interest in assessing and treating sports injuries and continues her passion for athletic development by working with local sports teams and individuals developing their speed, agility, power and strength to optimize their athletic performance.
Her mission is to provide her patients with the education, treatment, and attention needed to get them back to their activities injury free.
