About Katie

Katie (aka The Equestrian Physio) is located in Guelph, Ontario. She is a resident physiotherapist and equine rehab therapist, specializing in rehabilitation and performance coaching aimed at helping horses and riders optimize their physical performance and partnership. Hailing from Ontario's Kawartha Lakes, Katie boasts an impressive equestrian background, growing up on a breeding farm for Rocky Mountain Horses. An accomplished eventer in her youth, Katie honed her skills as she trained and competed on a number of different horses. She eventually transitioned her passion for the equestrian industry to formal education at the University of Guelph, completing both a BSc in Animal Biology and a Masters in Animal Biosciences. While originally intending to be a veterinarian, she was involved in an unfortunate car accident that forced her to pivot in a new direction. Drawing on her tenacity and expertise, she worked as an equine veterinary assistant for several years, before transitioning to earn her physiotherapy degree from the University of Toronto. Beyond her professional journey, Katie is an avid outdoorswoman, indulging in activities from hiking to whitewater paddle boarding.
