About Jorge

Jorge Cota is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner in London, Ontario, and a dedicated practitioner on the Goodwill Healing clinical team. Jorge combines an extensive background in exercise science and physical rehabilitation with classical osteopathic principles to target the root structural causes of pain and mobility restrictions. His practice centers on the relationship between structure and function, utilizing manual adjustments to support the body’s natural alignment and fluid dynamics. PRIMARY AREAS OF CLINICAL FOCUS: * Elite Sports Injuries & High-Level Athletic Care: Addressing the unique structural stresses of field-based sports, precisely fine-tuning joint tracking, and managing rotational knee, hip, back pain, or groin strains for competitive local players. * Youth Sports Injury & Ankle Sprain Rehabilitation: Structurally protective manual care for growing youth athletes to resolve acute ankle sprains, hip flexor restrictions, and physical imbalances caused by high-velocity acceleration or deceleration forces. * Post-Operative Recovery & Mobility Restoration: Utilizing his foundational background in physiotherapy support to safely assist patients recovering from major joint replacements or orthopedic surgeries by releasing deep tissue restrictions and restoring structural symmetry. * Principles-Based Manual Adjustments: Using tailored, non-invasive mechanics to decompress structural tension, clear mechanical blockages, and promote smooth joint tracking. PROFESSIONAL PROFILE & BACKGROUND: Jorge brings an extensive background in human mechanics and physical therapy principles to the clinic. He graduated with honours from the Occupational/Physiotherapy Assistant program at Conestoga College in 2007 before earning an honours degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Strength and Conditioning from Ottawa University (Kansas, USA) on an athletic soccer scholarship. Prior to his osteopathic studies, Jorge practiced for five years as a professional Kinesiologist across hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and specialized sports clinics, providing him with a profound framework for long-term physical recovery. INSURANCE & CREDENTIALS: Jorge holds a Master in Practice Diploma of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (MOMSc) from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. He is a member in good standing with the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA) and is federally certified by Osteopathy Canada (OSTCAN). CLINIC STANDARDS & INSURANCE ELIGIBILITY All osteopathic treatments at Goodwill Healing on Hyde Park Rd (West London, Ontario) meet the World Health Organization Type-1 standard. This credential ensures full coverage eligibility with all major Canadian private health insurance plans. Outside the clinic, Jorge remains an active soccer player and enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter, and friends.

I injured my foot back in February running. It has been a nagging injury that's stopped me from running for 4 months now. I have had 4 sessions with Jorge now to heal my plantar fascitis and I feel great! I'm starting to run lightly again and so far my foot feels amazing. I would recommend anyone with this type of injury to see Goodwill Healing.
