About Emilia

I am originally from Toronto, but Edmonton became home after graduating from the Speech Language Pathology program at the University of Alberta. In my career I have focused on the preschool population, working with children in community daycare and preschool programs with a range of diagnoses and communication profiles. While I consider myself a generalist, I have particular interests in speech sound delays/disorders (including motor speech), early language development, social communication, and play-based learning. I am certified in Hanen's It Takes Two To Talk and More Than Words programs, and have taken professional development courses for Dynamic Temporal and Tactical Cueing (DTTC) and Nuffield Dyspraxia Programme. I love opportunities to educate, coach, and collaborate with support assistants, parents/caregivers, and daycare/preschool staff. I have a passion for mentoring others, and have supervised SLP students on internal and external practicums. When I'm not working, I love to spend time with my wife and cats, usually gardening or doing crafts.
