My name is Elizabeth, I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). My exploration into the world of lactation began over 25 years ago, when I encountered significant breastfeeding
challenges with my daughter. With support, education, patience, and perseverance, I breastfed her for over two years. This sparked my passion for lactation medicine; I completed my lactation credentials in the United States.
My dedication to the IBCLC profession is strengthened by my strong foundation in the health sciences. I was conferred an Honours Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from the University of Waterloo. This was followed by a Master of Science in Medical Anthropology from the University of Toronto. Furthermore, I honed my advancement of evidence-based lactation education when I completed a Diploma in Herbal Medicine from England. My unique skill set allows me to offer a comprehensive healthcare approach to the families I serve. Family-centered care is at the cornerstone of my service; I am the proud mother of 6 exclusively breastfed children. I adopt a holistic approach to understand all factors that may impact the breastfeeding dyad, and I strive to provide culturally concordant healthcare.
Moreover, my commitment to breastfeeding education extends beyond the consultation. For many years, I have had the privilege of sharing my knowledge and expertise with families at the Ontario EarlyON Child and Family centres in the Peel Region.
I look forward to serving the community of Family Therapeutic Wellness Centre. Together, we will address your breastfeeding concerns, whilst respecting your values, beliefs, and cultural practices.
