President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Podiatric Medicine since 2017
Dr. Janes received her Bachelor of Kinesiology from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2006, before moving to Toronto to study Podiatry at The Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences. Upon completion of her program in 2009, she moved back home to Newfoundland, where she has been practicing Podiatry ever since. She is a member of the Canadian Federation of Podiatric Medicine (CFPM) and is the President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Podiatric Medicine (NLFPM) since 2017. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Janes is one of Newfoundland's senior podiatrists. She has successfully treated a wide range of patients with a variety of diagnoses and conditions, including podopediatrics, workplace injuries, sports medicine and patients with diabetes and vascular insufficiencies. She has extensive knowledge pertaining to the assessment, prescription and dispensing of custom foot orthotics to treat a wide range of foot injuries. These injuries include recurring and persistent plantar fasciitis, achilles tendonitis, mortons neuroma and metatarsalgia.
