Dr. Shayla Lyons is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor based in Toronto. She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta before earning her Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM). During her clinical training, she completed her internship at the Schad Naturopathic Clinic, gaining experience supporting patients with a wide range of acute and chronic health concerns. As a primary care provider, she is trained to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage a variety of health conditions using an individualized, evidence-informed approach.
Dr. Lyons believes that healthcare goes beyond simply managing symptoms. She is passionate about identifying the underlying contributors to health concerns and creating personalized treatment plans that combine modern medical science with centuries-old traditional healing practices. Her clinical interests include gut and microbiome health, dermatology and skin health (including acne, eczema, & psoriasis), hormonal and reproductive health (including fertility, pre- and postnatal care, PCOS, menopause, & menstrual health), environmental medicine, stress reduction, weight and sleep management, chronic fatigue and pain, preventative and longevity-focused care. Her interest in these areas was shaped in part by her own experiences with digestive health, hormonal imbalances, and acne. Seeing firsthand the impact of nutrition, lifestyle, and natural therapies sparked her passion for helping others better understand and take an active role in their health.
Dr. Lyons incorporates nutrition, lifestyle medicine, botanical medicine, homeopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, cupping, and targeted supplementation into individualized treatment plans when appropriate. She believes that optimal health is not simply the absence of disease, but an ongoing process of supporting the body, preventing future illness, and helping patients feel and function at their best.
