About Barry
Dr. Barry is a proud Hamiltonian whose personal chiropractic journey began after a serious back injury prohibited him from continuing his professional hockey career with the New York Rangers in 1991/1992.
After studying Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo he attended The Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) and graduated in 1999. He was awarded the Chiropractic Science Award for achieving the highest proficiency in both academic and technique courses in that department.
After graduation, he founded Absolute Chiropractic and Wellness.
In 2012 Dr. Young began work in an Advanced Practice Clinician role with the highly regarded Interprofessional Spine Assessment and Education Clinics (ISAEC) www.ISAEC.org program in which he works closely with local orthopedic spine surgeons, family physicians and other specialists in physiatry and rheumatology to provide recommendations to patients regarding self-management strategies as well as determining the need for advanced imaging or possible surgical and other specialist referrals.
