About Doug
Doug grew up in Cape Breton, NS, receiving a BSc in Chemistry (Honours) from CBU. During his time at CBU, Doug embarked on a total of 6 years of chemistry research. This included research opportunities after being awarded multiple NSERC research scholarships, and full-time employment for 2 years post-grad, which allowed him to publish several peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals as a result.
His passion for sports, exercise, and helping others return to what they love led him to pursue a career in physiotherapy. He went on to attend Dalhousie University where he received an MSc in Physiotherapy. Since graduating, Doug has worked exclusively in the Private Practice Setting.
Doug prides himself on his research ability and its applicability in his evidence-based approach to physiotherapy practice, which he uses to develop individualized treatment plans and empower his patients with education.
Doug has successfully completed the dry-needling level 1 course with Acupuncture Canada, and plans on completing the level 2 course in early 2026. With a strong interest in sport physiotherapy, Doug plans on continuing to expand his skill set and professional development by engaging in further post-graduate courses to continue to provide comprehensive care for all his patients.
Outside of the clinic, Doug enjoys staying active with surfing, snowboarding, skateboarding, and going on daily walks with his family.
