About Courtney
Meet Courtney Miller (she/her)
I am a Doctoral Resident and Registered Provisional Psychologist who provides psychological assessments and counselling for children, adolescents, and adults. I earned my Master of Science in Educational Psychology with a specialization in School and Applied Child Psychology and am currently completing the final year of my doctoral degree at the University of Calgary.
I have a particular passion for assessment and enjoy helping people better understand themselves, including how they learn, process information, experience the world, and where their individual strengths lie. I have formal training and experience providing psychoeducational, ADHD, autism, gifted, and mental health assessments in both private practice and school settings. My approach to assessment is collaborative and strengths-based, with a focus on providing meaningful recommendations that are individualized and useful in everyday life.
In counselling, I work with children, adolescents, and adults, tailoring my approach to each person’s individual needs, goals, and strengths. I use a strengths-based, collaborative, and client-directed approach and integrate Play Therapy into my work. I have experience supporting anxiety, emotional regulation, behavioural concerns, learning disabilities, neurodiversity, developmental differences, and other mental health concerns. I believe therapy works best when people feel comfortable being themselves, and I aim to create a space that feels safe, positive, and welcoming.
Inclusivity, kindness, and collaboration are at the heart of how I work. Whether we are working together through therapy or assessment, my goal is to help you feel understood, recognize your strengths, and find meaningful ways to move forward.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my lovable Golden Retriever, Doug, and my almost horse-sized German Shepherd, Bear.
