Cheryl is a dedicated professional with over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families. Throughout her career, she has provided support and guidance to those in need, helping them to achieve greater independence and success.
Cheryl’s early work focused on supporting people navigate the court system. She then moved on to working with and supporting young parents and then moved into adoption support. During this time she developed a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges facing families in today’s world.
Later, Cheryl shifted her focus to working in the school system. For the past fifteen years, she has worked individually with children in classrooms, and then in parenting groups, helping them to develop strategies needed to take on the complexities of parenthood.
Cheryl’s passion for education led her to become a teacher, where she has continued to make a positive impact on the lives of her students. Due to her passion and experience, she decided to move into counselling. As a teacher and counsellor, she works closely with students and their families to provide support and guidance on a wide range of issues, from academic challenges to emotional and social well-being.
Throughout her career, Cheryl has demonstrated a deep commitment to helping others, and seeking out ways to meet the needs of individuals who she supports. Her commitment to working with individuals and families has led to a fulfilling career where she hopes to continue adding to her practice through experience and education.
Cheryl’s practice focuses on working with individuals experiencing personal crisis or exploration, complex trauma and relationship counselling. she also has experience with youth and indiviuals with neuordiversties. She works from a person centered lens, bringing a trauma informed foundation to her practice. She uses an emotion focused and family systems theoretical framework when working with relationships.
Cheryl enjoys sunshine, reading and bubble baths. She looks forward to continue working in the community where she lives with her husband and doggos, two teenagers and one child out adulting in the world!
