About Beth

Beth is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who is passionate about empowering others in the face of life’s challenges to live a full and authentic life. She is creative and collaborative in navigating your journey to mental and physical wellness and takes an honest and empathetic approach to the therapeutic relationship. She has experience working with those from a variety of backgrounds including those from the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and adolescents aged 13 and up. She strives to create a safe space of inclusivity regardless of race, sexuality, gender, or any other identity that makes you, you. Beth sees all parts of a person as interconnected, body, mind and spirit, and understands that each of these aspects contribute to one’s well being. Beth integrates her over ten years experience as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist into her work with individuals, weaving together both her knowledge of how psychological states influence our physical health and nutrition and lifestyle habits to support the body’s natural capacity to heal. She is passionate about supporting those facing autoimmune conditions (like multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, hypo-and hyper- thyroid, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, and celiac disease) and other chronic conditions like chronic pain, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, digestive conditions (like irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)), cancer, chronic fatigue, and reproductive health issues (like perimenopause, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), endometriosis, and infertility). She also has experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and borderline personality disorder (BPD), as well as those facing stress and overwhelm, grief, and relational issues. Using a trauma-informed lens, Beth is always sensitive to how a person’s experience may influence the counselling process and takes your lead in what feels comfortable. Her approach is insight oriented, meaning that together you will gain a deeper understanding of how your emotions and past experience influence your patterns and current mental and physical health. Beth is primarily informed by person-centred, mindful self-compassion, and strength-based therapies, also integrating aspects of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and somatic exploration based on your unique needs. Beth is committed to the mental wellness of her community, currently working as a counsellor as IWAV (and previously at Island Community Services) in addition to her practice at Madrona.
