About Ashley
Ashley completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology, specializing in Athletic Therapy at the University of Manitoba in 2011. She then went on to work for several years as a Certified Athletic Therapist in Quebec, working with the U18 Quebec Women’s Hockey team and was the lead Athletic Therapist for Rugby and Lacrosse at Bishop’s University in Lennoxville, QC. Ashley then returned to Manitoba to complete her Master’s in Physical Therapy from the University of Manitoba in 2016.
Since graduating from Physical Therapy, Ashley has worked in both the private practice clinical and mobile setting with a focus on running and gait analysis, manual therapy and individualistic tailored exercise prescription. In addition to private practice, Ashley worked for 5 years in the hospital setting with a variety of patient populations including but not limited to: elective hip and knees, orthopaedic traumas, strokes, Parkinson’s, Geriatrics and dementia patients. Her diverse training in various settings with a large range of patient populations, has helped shape her knowledge of patient care.
Growing up, Ashley competed in various sports including track and field, basketball, gymnastics, figure skating, volleyball and soccer but it was competitive dance where Ashley found her true passion. Ashley attended the Junior professional program at the School of Contemporary Dance in Winnipeg and went on to study dance at Concordia University in Montreal, QC in 2011. Her love for movement and exercise as well as her desire to help others led her into the profession of physical therapy.
Ashley’s approach to rehabilitation is a mix of manual therapy and patient-focused exercise prescription with a dash of encouragement. Ashley is very outgoing, has a positive attitude, is dedicated to the profession and thoroughly enjoys helping people. She believes strongly in assisting patients with developing their goals and educating to prevent further injury.
