Ann has been practicing Massage Therapy since 2004 when she graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy. She began the first 9 years of her career in Victoria, then moved to the Comox Valley in 2013 to continue her practice as an RMT. She has worked in various clinics, a home based practice and, is looking forward to joining the roster at Canopy.
Ann works with all bodies, injuries, athletic abilities and conditions. Everything from headaches, disc herniations, repetitive strain injuries, PTSD, stress reduction and more are all a part of a days work. She likes to incorporate a blend of specific focal work with enough broader, circulatory work to be effective, yet comfortable. She utilizes a blend of Swedish, Fascial work, Joint mobilizations, firm pressure massage and rehab stretches and exercises to assist her patients. Creating a positive, comfortable environment while empowering her patients to reach their health goals is what keeps Ann motivated in her practice.
Each patient is met where they are, encouraged to share their difficulties and work together to create improvement, motivation and a sense of ease in their bodies. ‘If I can’t help you to feel comfortable and safe, we won’t get anywhere.’ Treating the Nervous System through trust, skilled technique and care is how we calm the mind and body for comfort and ease. Open communication, providing calm assurance, practical care and advice are where Ann shines.
