About Abby
Abby Lowry- Board Certified Behaviour Analyst
Abby is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) with almost a decade of experience supporting youth, teens, adults, and neurodivergent individuals with behavioural, developmental, and everyday life goals.
She has a particular interest in the intersection of mental health and neurodiversity, including supporting individuals living in small option homes, independent living settings, and other supported environments, as well as individuals and families working to maintain successful routines at home. Her work can include behaviour assessment and support planning, emotional regulation, skill building, executive functioning, daily living skills, and developing greater independence.
Abby believes behaviour support should help people develop the skills and tools to access the goals and lives they choose. Her approach is practical, collaborative, and grounded in meeting each person where they are. She does not approach behaviour therapy as a way to “fix” or cure someone, and recognizes that behaviours that have been useful to a person for years often require time, understanding, and meaningful alternatives; not a quick solution.
Families and clients can expect Abby to be
approachable, easy to talk to, and non-judgmental. She works collaboratively with individuals, caregivers, and support teams to develop strategies that are realistic within everyday life.
Abby has experience supporting neurodivergent individuals in post-secondary environments and serves as a board member with the Atlantic Provinces Association for Behaviour Analysis (APABA).
Outside of work, Abby enjoys hiking, reading with her two cats nearby, and experimenting in the kitchen (with varying degrees of success.)
Abby provides in-person services at Allied Therapy’s Bedford clinic, community-based support in the Halifax area, and virtual services across Nova Scotia.
