Tara Fiodorowicz is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario,
bringing over a decade of experience in the mental health field and six years of clinical practice. She works from a
trauma and antagonistic-nformed, client-centered perspective and combines evidence-based therapeutic
approaches with a holistic understanding of each client’s unique experiences.
Tara integrates a variety of evidence-based and holistic modalities into her work, including Cognitive Behavioral
Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Processing
Therapy (CPT), and polyvagal-informed practices. Her approach is both structured and relational—balancing
clinical expertise with warmth, curiosity, and authenticity.
Her areas of focus include PTSD and relational trauma, substance use and addiction recovery, men’s mental health,
grief and bereavement, reproductive trauma, eating disorders, life transitions, and interpersonal and relationship
challenges. Tara has particular experience working with individuals impacted by antagonistic and narcissistic
dynamics, both in intimate relationships and within professional or workplace environments. She supports clients
in understanding these patterns and boundaries in these unique contexts, and restoring their sense of safety,
autonomy, and self-trust.
Tara also works with individuals navigating substance use and addiction recovery, with experience in relapse
prevention and multiple recovery pathways, including SMART Recovery approaches. Her work in this area is
informed by both professional experience and meaningful personal insight, which fuels her deep commitment to
supporting individuals and families affected by addiction.
Prior to private practice, Tara worked with diverse and vulnerable populations in homeless shelters, youth
programs, and residential rehabilitation settings focused on mental health and addiction recovery. These
experiences provided her with a strong understanding of the complex social, relational, and systemic factors that
can impact mental health and wellbeing.
Clients often describe Tara as engaging, genuine, and easy to talk to. She prioritizes building strong therapeutic
rapport and creating an environment where clients feel safe, respected, and comfortable being themselves. While
her approach is compassionate and supportive (and occasionally includes a bit of well-timed humor), she is also
thoughtfully direct—believing that meaningful growth often requires both encouragement and gentle challenge.
Tara holds both bachelor’s and master’s level education and is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in
Mental Health Administration. Her long-term goal is to establish a recovery house that supports individuals and
families impacted by addiction.
She is deeply committed to ongoing professional development and continuously expanding her clinical capacity to
support clients in holistic and meaningful ways. Tara believes that healing and growth look different for everyone
and works collaboratively with clients to define and pursue what progress means to them.
