Lisa completed a Diploma in Kinesiology at the College of the Rockies, a Bachelors in Exercise Science and Health Promotion at the University of British Columbia- Okanagan, and later a Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta. Lisa is the founder of Little Voyagers Pediatric Therapies Inc. She is passionate about supporting children and families through play-based, evidence-informed therapy that builds independence, confidence, and functional skills for everyday life. Lisa is passionate about continuing education. She was previously trained in Cognitive Ability Evaluations, Functional Capacity Evaluations, Ergonomic assessment, Mental Health First Aid, Prolonged Exposure Treatment for PTSD, and treatment of Long Covid. Lisa's more recent trainings include: -Prevent It! a Little Warriors training course -BEST strategies to promote Occupational Participation -SOS approach to feeding and has completed CAOT webinars in: -Helping kids master SURPRISE -Understanding handwriting in school aged children -The role of OT in functional defecation disorders -Authentic assessment in pediatrics: a natural fit for OT -A family centered approach on parents sense of competency -Understanding the link between sleep health and sensory processing in children -Strengths based approach for pediatric feeding -Picky eating explained : OT's role in supporting picky eating
