“I’ve been a client of Elliot Vlad for many years now, I don’t know anyone else at this level of excellence of osteopathic treatments. I book 4 visits annually to maintain proper posture, tissues, bones and joints health and longevity. Due to my hobby in Property Development I had at least 5 occasions where I needed repair my lower back, mid-back, shoulders, knees and most recently my hip and thigh. Elliot is able to diagnose and pin-point the root cause of the pain every single time within minutes. His wife Tamara is also a fantastic physiotherapist so we use her services as well. “Arrived on time with my newborn, who is cluster feeding at 5 weeks, and she promptly started to cry to nurse as soon as we entered the building and prepaid the $90 fee. A gentleman, that I later found out was the owner, came out to inform me that my daughter was hungry… Which I was well aware of and frankly was quite condescending. I found a chair in a non-private area by the exit and was about to nurse her, when the owner again informed me that my daughter was hungry… At this point I was getting very insulted. As if I wasn’t aware that my daughter was hungry and trying to find somewhere to feed her. He then told me I could go into an empty room to nurse. I spent about 15 minutes in there waiting for someone to come get me for my appointment. Finally, the craniosacral specialist came down and brought me up to her office. She told me that she could’ve been treating my daughter the entire time that she was nursing! But the owner put me in a different room and essentially used up all of my time for nothing. She treated my daughter for about 10 minutes before telling me that her time was up. I essentially paid $90 to be insulted by the owner, put in the wrong space, and for someone to see my daughter for 10 minutes- only to tell me that I’ll have to go on a cancellation list to be seen again. While the specialist, Kim, was quite nice and professional, I feel ripped off and insulted. I will not be rebooking here.*** update: The office called me after seeing my review and offered me a complementary appointment to make up for the missed appointment and apologized on behalf of the staff. “I had exactly the same experience with acupuncture as the person who posted below. There was barely any communication and I had the feeling that he did not listen to me. He massaged me for a couple of minutes, does moxibustion and then puts needles in my feet. Then he left me for 40 - 45 minutes (sometimes I got cold). Most of the time I felt uncomfortable. After 3-4 times receiving the same session, I tried acupuncture elsewhere in Ottawa and boy do I feel lucky. “I started seeing Elliot for all my pregnancy issues. I had 2 healthy and happy births in part because of Elliot, Tamara, Lauren and the warm and welcoming staff. Both of my babies also were treated by Elliot. I continue to see Elliot-Osteopath, Tamara-Physio and Katrina-Massage. I NEED them in my life. Without them I would be in pain and discomfort. It has changed my life that all these services and loads more are under one roof. Having a shared file for different disciplines provides a continuity of care not offered anywhere else. “I had been experiencing some pretty brutal back pain, and went here for two massages to try to work out the spasms. Sarah Richardson was so lovely, kind, and intuitive. She really listened to what I had to say about the pain, and then hunted down where the spasm began. She worked it out and then gave me suggestions on how to move, stretch and do self-massage in order to improve the pain. I am so thankful for the time she spent helping me and I can't wait to go back under better circumstances! I've also heard fantastic rumours about Elsa (I think she's an osteopath) and I plan to go see her as well. The environment was also really nice. There was tea available when I walked in. “All of the practitioners and office staff at Life Therapies are very professional, warm and attentive to their clients. It is a very welcoming environment for new and regular clients. I have had excellent treatments from Tamara for a lower body injury which was difficult to isolate but she quickly identified it and what we had to do to fix it. I am very thankful that Elliot introduced me to Osteopathy and even more so with the many benefits I receive from my regular appointments with him.
