“Great adventure except for one big problem. You are in a very remote area with no access to emergency medical care. I had stroke systems but the closest CT scan was Vancouver General Hospital. To get there you need to take a helicopter back to Massett Island and then a medi-vac flight to Vancouver. Connections are problematic. You have a 3 hour window for the CT to detect any brain bleed and then the clot buster shot. You will never meet the time frame so beware if you have any stroke or heart attack history or for that matter high BP. Further the Lodge in their materials never warns of this or advises getting trip insurance if you are a non-Canadian citizen as your medical bills may not be covered. Finally, was there only one day and the Lodge never offered reimbursement or even credit for a future trip.”
