“I had my first appointment with Orla for post-surgical knee pain. She is unlike any physiotherapist I have seen. Her approach is multi-faceted and unique. She is attentive, solution-oriented, very patient and good humoured. All the staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. The building has a very good vibe. “Orla and her team are so dedicated and knowledgeable, so caring. I’m just finishing up the PD warrior 10 week course. It is helped so much with my strength and my balance. Orla finds the most up-to-date, relevant, practical courses and technology to help. I also am using the Red Light Therapy and it helps tremendously with my energy and gut health. It’s a very welcoming atmosphere. They all have such big hearts. Also the fact you can do classes virtually is a Huge bonus. Can’t Thank them enough for all they do. “Orla and her clinic has been such a positive influence on my husband with Parkinson’s. Orla cultivates such an encouraging, positive environment, inclusive to all, and offers a wide range of activities and is always open to innovative processes and new technology. With Orla and her physio sessions with Terry, we have been able to keep him walking 2 k a day, kept his stiffness to a minimum, and generally kept his Parkinson’s at bay as much as possible. “Gaitway is a one stop shop for people with neuro disorders like Parkinsons Disease. The centre staff provides personal, professional and knowledgeable services that help reduce symptoms and improve confidence. I participate in boxing, tai chi, osteopathy, Pilates, PD Warrior, and physio therapy. And there are classes and services that I haven’t checked out yet. “My walker is stored in the garage now. I am 72 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s about 10 years ago when i found Gaitway Neurobphysio my balance was terrible and I had fallen several times. I was also having trouble with walking. Working with Orla helped a lot. Then she introduced me to the PD Warrior program under her guidance I have experienced a tremendous improvement. My balance has improved 10 fold. I’m walking better, moving better, have more confidence and no falls by the way, my voice has impacted even my handwriting has improved. “Orla at Gaitway is the best physiotherapist I've worked with. After dealing with a stroke, and working with another private-practice physiotherapist, I found Orla and Gaitway. They specialize in Parkinson's and stroke recovery, and they are amazing. The Gaitway facility in Hamilton is unlike any physio clinic I've ever been to. Orla has created a community and a space that's warm and welcoming rather than cold and clinical. She has all the tools and equipment you could ever need, and she employs a very tailored approach that focuses on exactly what I need. I have never once been hooked up to a TENS machine and left alone, or sat on an exercise bike for 20 minutes of my one hour session. I'm at the point in my recovery where my gains are small and slow to come, and it would be very easy to get frustrated, but Orla doesn't let that happen. She conducted some testing and determined how she might be able to assist me to regain some strength, mobility and balance functions. “Orla is a skilled physiotherapist who provides excellent treatment beginning with a personal assessment in your own home. Subsequent treatments can be in your own home or in a class setting. Currently, because of COVID-19, she is instructing virtual physio exercise classes. She has introduced us to exercising with Smovey Rings and her classes focus on movement difficulties, balance, posture and 'retraining the brain.' Orla's classes are intense but fun. I feel very fortunate to have access to her expertise as I learn to live well with Parkinson's. I would definitely recommend Orla at Gaitway Neurophysio.”Read moreShow less
