“Where to start back in 2024 my husband Kenneth became palltive care at home for around 7 months or so all through those months had best of care from his nurse laura social worker vanessa resipoirty Nicole fast forward to july 13 2024 the worst days my kids and I went through his pain started that Saturday morning say round 930 am it was bad placed call for pain relief was refused my husband sufferd in horrble pain for12hours called them again round 230 pm again treated very rudely passed that nite round 9pm by time he took his last breath he was in fetal position when nurse finally came round 1015bpm was very rude so unfair way my family watched thier dad sufferd was well no words just very angry saint john location it's just been a year shame o n you extra mural”

“I have been supported by the Saint John Extramural team for two extended periods from 2019 to present (Dec 2022). I have great respect for all of the nursing and therapy staff that have assisted me over the last few years. We are fortunate to have such a program in our province. The personal care often exceeds what is possible in the hospital environment which benefits the patient. In both of my cases, the hospital stay time was reduced as it was possible for Extramural to support me at home. This is an obvious financial benefit to our already strained system and most often accelerates the healing of the patient. I am impressed at how vigilant the staff are at communicating with GP's and specialists in updating patient status. They are also better equipped with dressings etc, than even the hospital units are. This is a service that I only see increased need for in our province. Great work.”

“It’s unfortunate that the medical professionals who do the work here are represented by reception/admin. that are uninterested, impatient, rude and dismissive. Having someone answering the phones who cares about patients and has a working knowledge of programs and supports available would be a real asset.”
