Elmwood Park Dental rocks😊 From attitude to elegance to skillfulness, ElmWood is above and beyond. Dr. Hughes is A+++. Great comforting attitude. Dr. Hughes, his assistant, the lady who did my teeth cleaning; They are all like the best dental care team that anyone would be so lucky to have their help. I am so optimistic about my teeth future because of ongoing issues. Dental visits scares me , usually, but not today. I was well-cared for. Thanks to ElmPark dental and Dr. Jain massive “above and beyond “ Canada Dental Care Plan 😊 Thanks a million! How lucky am I?

If you're considering this clinic, I would strongly encourage you to ask questions before agreeing to treatment. TL;DR: Repeated pressure tactics, misleading information about treatment coverage, and zero accountability afterward. I ultimately lost trust in this clinic and would not recommend it. I was a patient here for a few years. Early on, I saw a hygienist named Helen every six months. At every appointment, I was repeatedly told that my teeth were “very dirty” and that I needed cleanings more frequently. Despite brushing and flossing twice a day and being borderline obsessed about oral hygiene, I was convinced to start coming every four months, which meant paying roughly $200 out of pocket for the additional visits not covered by the insurance. Later, other hygienists told me my teeth were completely fine and that every six months was more than sufficient. I stayed because I liked my dentist at the time, and the other hygienists were nice. However, I was switched to a different dentist shortly after, and my experience changed. I had a fully exposed wisdom tooth that was not causing pain, cavities, or any issues. The dentist repeatedly pushed for extraction at nearly every visit, despite me expressing hesitation. He stated that the wisdom tooth was posing risks for cavities, but two other dentists I know also looked at the tooth and told me there was no urgency to remove it. Eventually, I agreed because I trusted the professional advice I was being given. What happened afterward completely destroyed my trust in the clinic. Before the procedure, I asked twice, on different days, whether the treatment would be fully covered. I was verbally assured both times that it would be. The receptionist was also pushing me to book the procedure quickly before insurance estimates had been finalized. I later found out that the information I was given was incorrect and ended up paying $263 out of pocket. When I raised concerns about the miscommunication, the clinic refused to acknowledge any possibility that incorrect information had been given verbally and instead placed the blame entirely on me for rashly proceeding with treatment. What disappointed me most was not the amount itself, but the complete lack of accountability and customer service afterward. During two weeks of back-and-forth communication, there was no sign of apology or care, no acknowledgement of the misunderstanding, and zero willingness to take responsibility for what had happened. Taken together, these experiences left me with the impression that the clinic uses pressure tactics and prioritizes upselling treatment over honest communication and patient trust.

I had a great visit! The staff was super friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. Their communication was excellent—they explained every step clearly so I knew exactly what to expect, which really put me at ease.

I had a really great experience at Elmwood Park Dental. I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to dental work, and because of that I had been neglecting my oral health for longer than I’d like to admit. I was pretty nervous going in, but the entire team was incredibly kind and completely non-judgmental. My dentist, Dr. Jain, and my hygienist, Nasrin, were amazing. They met me with nothing but compassion and made my comfort a priority the whole time. I ended up having 4 appointments over about 3 weeks to get my teeth back to where they should be, and throughout all of it they made sure everything was as comfortable and pain-free as possible. They checked in often and made sure I was doing okay. I’m really grateful for how supportive and understanding they were. If you’ve been putting off dental work because of anxiety like I had, I’d definitely recommend them. They made the whole experience feel much more manageable than I expected. Thank you guys so much!! ❤️🦷😃

Overall I had a good experience at this clinic. The front desk staff are friendly and organized, and the hygienists are great. Dr. Hughes is one of the best dentists I’ve been to, very professional and explains everything clearly. For this reason I would come back. The only issue I had was with the dental assistants. I clearly asked for bitewing X-rays and a panoramic only, and specifically said not to take any other x rays. Despite that, the Indian assistant seemed confused & did not know what she was doing, she first told me that she was taking a ceph, which I did not request, and I had to repeat myself multiple times, she didn’t understand what was being requested and another assistant ended up taking multiple extra X-rays, including PAs that I specifically asked not to be taken, she also had to retake some after making mistakes with the bitewings which she messed up on and needed to do again. It felt like there was a serious lack of understanding and communication especially since informed consent was not taken on the PA’s. This is a serious concern for me, that part of the appointment was frustrating and unnecessary.

I highly recommend Elmwood Park Dental. The whole team is friendly, organized, and professional, and appointments always feel smooth and well-managed. I was nervous about getting a filling because of a previous bad experience, but Dr. Hughes was great. He took the time to make sure I was comfortable, helped ease my anxiety and ultimately did a really good job fixing up my teeth. As a result, the experience was much better than I expected. We also bring our daughter to the pediatric specialists, and they’ve been wonderful. They explain things in a way she understands and make her feel comfortable during her appointments, which makes a big difference as a parent. She actually likes going to the dentist! Elmwood Park is a solid, reliable dental clinic for both adults and kids - I've had nothing but positive experiences there so far!

I have been a patient of Dr. Andre Hughes for over 10 years. I highly recommend him for his technical abilities and more over him. He has helped family members & friends with anxiety and/or trauma with empathy & patience giving them the best care. All the staff from reception to hygienists are welcoming, respectful, professional and sensitive to our needs consistently just like Dr. Hughes! As a person with disabilities he has always been inclusive & accommodates my needs. I highly recommend Dr. Hughes and his team!!!
