“Do not bring your loved ones here. My grandma was taken here for dementia, and it’s true when I see all these 1 star reviews. She also had clothes “ missing “ several times. They could never seem to find her dentures. Constant UTI , always had a soiled diaper. Always heavily sedated to the point where she had a “ unwitnessed fall “ from her bed and was not noticed until 7am. Which caused internal bleeding in the brain. Even staying in the late nights until my grandmas passing. Patients were sleeping in the hallways. So knocked out their heads were in their plates at dinner time. This was beyond hurtful to see. No matter what stages someone is in their life ,treat them with sympathy and respect. Look up this place and their history before you make a decision to place your family here. Please.”Read moreShow less

“Words do not describe how incredible the staff and personal support workers are at AgeCare Willowgrove. My father spent eight months in the Bayfront neighbourhood and received exceptional care. My father would regularly comment how the staff really made all the residents feel like family and how well he was being cared for. My father was palliative his final week at Willowgrove. The care and compassion by the staff and PSWs was immeasurable towards our father, and my sisters and I. We were with our dad 24/7 and the staff was even looking out for our wellbeing. There are not enough words to express our appreciation for everything they did for our beloved dad. The staff and PSWs in the Bayfront neighbourhood at Willowgrove are very special people, and we are forever grateful to them.”Read moreShow less

“Our mother spent the last few weeks of her life at the WillowGrove. The care, love and respect that each member showed her / us there was incredibly comforting; at the most difficult time for us. The communication was thorough and we were always kept up to date. Her last days, we were welcomed to be by her side and were accommodated with kindness. I found the staff professional, the food was good, and kept very clean. Zero complaints.”Read moreShow less

“My mother has early onset dementia and a form of severe parkinsons and the experience watching her decline has been the hardest thing my family has faced. My family and I spoke with Kate McDonald about the process of choosing long-term care and she took the time to explain the care options and what standards we should be looking for/advocating for with our mom. I have been dreading this conversation because it is hard to believe that my mom is in this position, relatively young. The conversation with Kate allayed my concerns because I could see the confidence that she has in her facility and the professionals that may be caring for my mom. Willowgrove is very lucky to have Kate. These types of hard and heavy conversations are difficult to navigate with families and she does it with resolve, warmth and compassion. I was left feeling at peace with the idea of my mom living in a facility when we are no longer able to support her with the dignity and quality of life she deserves. I am very grateful this meeting and for Kate. She obviously cares deeply about her job and the residents at Willowgrove.”Read moreShow less

“Well My Husband Charlie is in Chartwell Willowgrove Long Term Care Home in Ancaster, Hamilton 4 weeks today. They lost a suitcase full of clothes about 8 different shirts, 6 pairs of pants, 6 pairs of socks. How can they loose a suitcase full of clothes. They couldn't find his glasses or his coat. My son Glen and I went to see yesterday, he was still in his pjs and he sat down in the chair and had a pee and then I noticed his nails had feces on them.”Read moreShow less

“My Nana Marjorie passed away this year. She spent the finals years of her life here at Willow Grove. Everytime we visited the home, we could see and feel the true compassion, patience and care that is being given to each of the residents. The nurse or PSW assigned to her floor was so amazing. I witnessed such good bedside manner both to my Nama and to us as the family. I watched how they attended to other residents as I walked the halls and a sense of relief was installed in me. I was always comfortable knowing she was in good hands. As my Nanas health declined they were always in contact and available to answer all our concerns. Due to the pandemic, visiting became impossible. This was to maintain the safety and health of everyone. However, they made an exception with a high amount of precaution to allow us to visit and say our goodbyes in the final days. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. You all deserve so much credit!”Read moreShow less

“Willowgrove has a great team looking after its residents. I appreciate that they try to take feedback seriously, and I REALLY appreciate the constant/frequent education that its employees undergo. Methods and resources change every year, so it's key to keep staff in any place (but especially healthcare) updated on their education in order to best serve their residents. I feel like residents are really cared for here, given the kind and educated staff, and based off of the satisfaction of residents. Thanks, guys, for taking care of them (: Pleased to see you guys being strong on the training and education front.”Read moreShow less
